Before we flip the page on 2021, we want to say thank you to our customers who have stayed with us throughout this year. I am humbled—our entire team is humbled—by your dedication and commitment to our product. As a result, we’re inspired to keep coming up with new methods to help you get the most out of Mindee.
In 2021, our company doubled in size as we hired more talented folks to be able to push the vision of Mindee forward and work towards providing top-notch services to our customers. We’ve expanded our global presence, released new products, and developed valuable new features.
Before the curtain falls on 2021, below are just a few highlights of how we’ve served you over the past twelve months.
Highlights from 2021
🎉 Series A
This year Mindee raised a $14 million Series A round led by GGV Capital to expand our presence in the U.S. and European markets to further develop both the underlying machine learning engine and platform features.
🌐 docTR
Mindee launched docTR(Document Text Recognition) in February 2021 which is an open-source seamless, high-performing & accessible library for OCR-related tasks powered by Deep Learning. This was to improve the way we parse textual information(localize and identify each word) from your documents.
🔥 API Builder
Mindee launched the API Builder in March 2021 to enable clients that develop their own APIs to train faster, and extract results more accurately.
🤖 Model Training Page
The team introduced the Model training page to show the progress of training for APIs created using the API Builder and know when it’s deployed.
💫 Invoice API V2
The invoice API performance was improved by adding native PDF textual content for currency, amount/tax, invoice number, payment details, and company registration number and support for 17 new currencies.
🔏 SSO
The team introduced SSO login to enable users to log in or sign up using GitHub or Google.
⛳ API Filtering by Locale
The team introduced a means for users to filter their off-the-shelf APIs by location which makes it easier to sort the APIs you want to use.
