Welcome Frédéric Harper, our Director of Developer Relations

Hi, I’m Frédéric Harper, but you can call me Fred. It is with great pleasure that I started the role of Director of Developer Relations at Mindee on Monday. As I mentioned in the announcement on my own site, I’m really excited to join this young, but quite impressive company. I was first mind blown by the technology, and it’s potential, and I was later seduced by the brilliant minds that are now my colleagues.

The first ten years of my career in technology were all about software development: I created web, mobile and standalone applications using way too many different technologies. With that said, the last ten years has been about mixing my technical competencies with my love for people and social skills: I’ve done this at places like Microsoft, Mozilla, DigitalOcean, Fitbit and even npm. I’m pragmatic, but I’m definitely an open source enthusiast.

So what does a person with a fancy title like that eat during winter time? I consider myself the friendly social approachable technical face of the company. In other words, I’m your new best friend! Part of my job is to help you be successful, no matter what that means to you. It’s also my job, and a pleasure to advocate for you internally to help forge a roadmap that is more aligned with what our users need. Let’s just say that there are a lot of things on my plate already, and you’ll hear from me soon!

In the meantime, I invite you to join our new Slack community: it’s a space where developers can ask questions, help each other, share their wins or get a taste of how awesome the Mindee community is. I’m also quite active on Twitter, and would be more than happy to connect with you on LinkedIn. Lastly, I would ask you to share with me any feedback about your experience so far with our product or our open source projects. I’m looking forward to meeting all of you, yes, ALL of you…

P.S.: I am a huge fan of The Office (US) and I’m kinda a crazy cat man
